CLOMIPHENE CITRATE, AKA CLOMID, SEROPHENE, MILOPHENE

Clomid Ovulation Calculator

Clomiphene, taken in pill form, tells your pituitary gland to produce or make more of the hormones that trigger ovulation . It prompts your ovaries to get a number of your eggs ready for release. Once you are are through your cycle of medication, the part of your brain that regulates basic functions (the hypothalamus) such as temperature, will release lutenizing hormone (LH), which tells your ovaries it's time to release a mature egg from its follicle and send it into one of your Fallopian tubes.

Clomiphene must be prescribed by your doctor. It is generally taken about five days each month.  You'll start taking this drug about three to five days into your monthly menstrual cycle if you have a normal period.  Ovulation generally occurs 5 to 9 days after the last pill is taken.

The cost of the drug varies. Drugstore.com sell 50 MG Clomid Tablets for $47.50 for 5 tablets and 10 for $90.69.  The Generic form; Clomiphene Citrate Tablets 50 MG are 5 tablets for $19.00 and 10 tablets  for $36.28. I purchase five 50mg tablets from Walgreens pharmacy for $25.

If you feel that you are not ovulating, or have PCOS, talk to your physician about the use of this drug.
